Anna and I worked on the feature film Nature with LA filmmakers writer/director Jeff Pickett and director of photography Eric Jensch earlier this month. I worked as 1st assistant to camera, and did some additional camera work for Eric. I also came back with a few production stills, including a couple mock-ups of possible movie posters.
We did this shoot early one morning along the Zig Zag River on Mt. Hood, and it just happened to be the only day it rained. Eric held the umbrella for me, while gaffer Chris Hamala held up a large bounce bored to shield our two actors from the rain. We setup the frame and the pose while in full rain gear, and then quickly had the two disrobed for the shoot. I shot for about 2-3 minutes, untill Ryan and Ludmilla turned blueish, and called it a day. It was really important to work fast so that our talent didn’t get hypothermia and shut down the rest of the film. I would have liked more time to shoot, but I like shooting under pressure and find that it almost always yields good results.

Our fearless director Jeff also played the roll of the drifter character.
